April will pour forth!

WEDNESDAY APRIL 21 @ 5pm, PST

I am a member of landscapemusic.org, an international composers collective, which will be featured at the 7th Annual Visions of the Wild Film & Arts Festival. After two World Premiere performances of two new works for flute and cello, commissioned by Landscape Music, my friends Cathie Apple (flute) and Timothy Stanley (cello) of Citywater, my esteemed composer-colleagues, Nell Shaw Cohen and Ryan Suleiman, and myself as a panel will introduce and discuss excerpts from works that take inspiration from places in and around the Bay Area. We'll discuss responses to my own NorCal Water Music, Cohen’s Transforming Forest, and Suleiman’s Burning.

SATURDAY MAY 1 @ 6:30-7:30 pm, PSThttps://www.derekkeller.com/norcal-media

I am thrilled that NorCal will be featured in its entirety on the 2021 Oregon Fringe Festival (OFF). On Saturday, May 1, at t 6:30 pm, PST, I am going to live-VJ NorCal. What does "live VJ" mean? I am going to present the video of the World Premiere performance from Nov. 2019 in a completely different order in real time. NorCal is part of my Modular Music Project, in which the encompassing works have varying degrees of modularity and improvisation. Over the course of about 30 minutes, you will see and hear NorCal realized anew -- and you, too, can participate during the interludes with your mobile devices at home! (Click here to view and hear your 'socio-multimedia'). After the performance OFF's music producer, Delaney Armstrong, will moderate a live Q & A, at which time I will be joined by my esteemed friends and colleagues, Cathie & Tim of Citywater (hailing remotely from Sacramento CA), the commission ensemble.
